Romanian verbs

In Romanian as in English there are different tenses (past, present, future etc), but the first one to learn when starting to learn Romanian is the present tense.

Romanian verbs conjugate, meaning that their endings change depending on the person. There are four main conjugations, classified according to the endings which are -a , -ea , -e and -i of which -a is the most common.

Irregular verbs

As is the case in many languages, and Romanian is no exception, some of the commonest verbs are irregular, meaning that they do not follow the forms outlined above, and these have to be learned separately .
