Articles

In English there are two articles ' a ' and ' the '. The definite article is ' the ' and the indefinite article is ' a '  and the same articles are used for all nouns, none of which have gender.

Nouns in Romanian have a gender which can be masculine, feminine or neuter.

Indefinite article

The indefinite article in Romanian is ' un ' if the noun is masculine or neuter and ' o ' if the noun is feminine.

Noun exist in the singular and plural. Essentially, with exceptions, masculine plural nouns end - i , neuter plural nouns end  - e or - uri amd feminine plural nouns end - i or - e

Definite article

Romanian does not have a separate definite article, and  where in English we use ' the ' as the definite article, in Romanian the ending of the noun is changed. The ending used varies depending on whether the noun is in the singular, plural or masculine, feminine or neuter.
